Family-Centered Patient Care
Our surgical care staff focuses on a proactive approach to quality patient care that includes communication and education. From the time the patient begins preparing for surgery through the time the patient is recovering, our team involves family members in discussions about care and treatment to help ease any anxiety a patient may have.

Preparing for Surgery
We understand there are a lot of details to consider when planning for surgery so we encourage you to contact us with any questions.

Pain Management
It is likely the patient will experience some discomfort following their surgical procedure. There are many methods available to keep pain levels to an acceptable level that will allow a patient to participate in therapy and rest. Discuss these options with your surgeon and anesthetist and review our additional information on pain management.

Preparing for Discharge
Planning for discharge is just as important as planning for admission. We will work with the patient during their stay to meet any discharge needs. Please let us know of any concerns.

Anesthesia
Our Advanced Practice, Certified Register Nurse Anesthetists, under the direction of Chief of Anesthesiology Dr. Frank Tranfa, monitor patients receieving anesthesia during surgery and other medical procedures.

Areas of expertise include:

  • Critical care
  • Pain management
  • Epidural steroids
