Diabetes Education is a comprehensive, referral-based program that empowers you to take control of your diabetes. We offer:
- Individual sessions by appointment
- Monthly group classes for Type 2 Diabetes
- Bi-monthly Pre-Diabetes group classes
- Bi-monthly support groups
Diabetes Education at Huggins Hospital is accredited by the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. Appointments are available at Huggins Hospital and our physician practices in Alton, Ossipee, Moultonboro and Tamworth. We are dedicated to designing a plan that fits your needs and makes your life easier!

We will work with you to set goals, choose foods, read labels, learn more about blood glucose results, low blood glucose prevention, medication, insulin and devices. We are dedicated to helping you make healthy choices, handle stress, stay active and find support.
Live Well with Diabetes
Is your diabetes under control?
The Diabetes Self-Management program includes four classes where you’ll learn about diabetes and lifestyle modifications that can lead to improved diabetes self-management and improved health. Set goals for behavioral changes that lead to a healthier you. The classes also provide an opportunity to share experiences with a supportive peer group on how to cope with diabetes.

Healthy Living Group
Our Healthy Living Group is a CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program that empowers participants to take control of their health and well-being and is proven to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. The program is FREE for those who qualify!
