Huggins Hospital Trustee, Kathy Barnard, Awarded NHHA’s Outstanding Trustee of the Year for 2023

During the New Hampshire Hospital Association’s Annual Meeting in 2023, Huggins Hospital Trustee Kathy Barnard was recognized as the Outstanding Trustee of the Year. Barnard was selected from nominees across the state for her dedication to her local hospital and her community. The award is presented to a trustee of a New Hampshire Hospital Association (NHHA) member institution whose achievement in the field of hospital trusteeship stands out above all others, and who serves as an example to encourage others in the pursuit of excellence in hospital governance. NHHA representatives said they chose Barnard because she is a champion for quality improvement and improved patient experiences.

Kathy Barnard has served on the Board of Trustees for Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, NH, for over a decade. In her time on the Huggins Hospital Board, Barnard has served on the Executive Committee, Governance Committee, Planning and Facilities Committee and the Quality Care and Patient Experience Committee. According to her nomination, Barnard is a dedicated trustee who always takes extra time to reach out and thank Huggins Hospital employees for their amazing work. She also attends organizational events and supports the hospital’s work in the community.

Kathy Barnard is also active in the local community, serving and having served on many boards and committees including Wolfeboro Planning Board, Waters Committee, Milfoil Committee, Food Pantry, Friends of Wolfeboro Town Hall, Public Library Foundation, the Eastern Lakes Region Housing Coalition and more.
